The idea of the project originated from a graphics course held at my university. We were talking about different programming languages that offer easy to use graphic libraries and somebody asked about hardware descriptive languages.
There may be some custom libraries available, but why not make my own?
DISCLAIMER: The project is in development. This means that there are more changes to come, such as: adding more functions for graphic primitives and adding a ddr memory as a frame buffer.
HDMI and DVI signals are fully compatible and we can use an HDMI connector to transmit DVI. HDMI has some extra fancy features (such as audio, ethernet, ...) but for our simple project we do not need them. Henceforth, we will be transmitting DVI signals via a HDMI cable to a monitor.
